Valerie Ulep, PhD

Dr. Ulep is the Senior Researcher leading the project’s construction of illicit tobacco trade index. He is also a Research Fellow at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), where he is the project director of different research projects on health financing, health service delivery, and nutrition and human capital. Prior to joining the PIDS, he worked at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. and Delhi Offices. He was a doctoral fellow at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Global Health Research. He holds a PhD in Health Economics from the McMaster University in Canada.
