Hana Ross, PhD

Dr. Ross is a Principal Research Officer and SALDRU Affiliate in the School of Economics at University of Cape Town. She earned her BA and MA at the Prague School of Economics and later on received her PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Ross has over 17 years of experience in conducting research on the economics of tobacco control and in management of research projects in low- and middle-countries. She has published more than 60 articles and independent reports on issues related to tobacco taxation, cigarette prices, costs of smoking, illicit trade, youth access laws, and other economic aspects of tobacco control.
